Happy Windsday

My beautiful bride was remarking that it was a blustery day today and referenced the Winnie the Pooh movie. We have certainly had fun with the weather recently. Yesterday morning the storm came through and we had tornado sirens blaring in the morning. Heather was already at school so they did their drill. I had not yet left for work so Steph, Geoffrey, Brian and I went into the basement. While the boys were a little worried at first we said a quick prayer and they got distracted by the PS2 down there. When we came out of the basement a little later, a quick walk around the house revealed that one of our trees had a split trunk and was threatening to fall on the garage. We used some rope, our bow saw, and a borrowed pole saw to cut off the major limbs that were threatening the house. Steph was a trooper and worked the ropes while I sawed the branches to make sure they fell right where we wanted them. We will have a professional come to down the rest of the tree and replace it with a new autumn blaze maple.
