It is amazing the blessings that come when you follow the counsel of the prophet. We had a hard time finding a time to read the scriptures together as a family. I asked Steph to think about it and the next thing I know she teaches a family home evening on family scripture study and the family agrees to get up early to read the scriptures from 6am to 6:15.
So we did that on Tuesday morning. Last night Geoffrey (generally the hardest to wake early) was all excited about getting up to read the scriptures. This morning all three children who are at home got up on their own before 6 and were ready to read. When 6:15 came I ended the reading for the morning and Heather asked if we could read just a little bit more.
Steph and I had prayed for the Lord's help in sustaining us in trying to do family scripture reading and I thought it would be less painful, but wow did the Lord pour his blessings out in sustaining our efforts to follow his commands.
